An island of gezelligheid on a Sunday morning. The cafe at the Fermerie bathed in autumn morning light, with bright yellow sunflowers, and a glorious orange pumpkin, and matching furniture setting a beautifully warm tone.

We got around to discussing the death of post offices around the world, with the advent of electronic communication. And while the number of ‘actual’ post offices may be on the wane, one has to wonder…how much effort does it really take to leave the old post boxes on the street corner, as reminders of times past? They still have historic post-boxes in the older neighborhoods in Deventer. “Charming”, is just the most superficial response they elicit……
