But it does make a delicious winter pickle in salt and lemon juice. 

Apparently in keeps colds away too.

Tropical delights!! After ages, biting into the intensely sour and somewhat sweet flesh of a raw tamarind fruit.

We live our life constantly interacting with objects - often much more than we interact with other people. Its rare however, that an object makes you think about the hand of the maker, in a very primeval way. 

An island of gezelligheid on a Sunday morning. The cafe at the Fermerie bathed in autumn morning light, with bright yellow sunflowers, and a glorious orange pumpkin, and matching furniture setting a beautifully warm tone. 

We got around to discussing the death of post offices around the world, with the advent of electronic communication. And while the number of ‘actual’ post offices may be on the wane, one has to wonder…how much effort does it really take to leave the old post boxes on the street corner, as reminders of times past? They still have historic post-boxes in the older neighborhoods in Deventer. “Charming”, is just the most superficial response they elicit……  

Just felt like posting something with a hint of Red - so its going to be the photo of the cous-cous and corn stuffed sweet peppers!
