And while we’re thoroughly enjoying the finest weekend of the year in our little town - the weekend of the ‘Deventer op stelten’ (Deventer on stilts) outdoor theater festival - here’s an image we forgot to post from last year’s fest - a shot from the fantastic fire installations in the park across the Ijssel river. 

Summer may officially be three months long….but the feeling of it is a fleeting thing…

But its all there, on an evening like this, with brilliant late sunshine, and radiant blues and greens all around.

Even though its terribly cold, its spring, and we have the green on the trees to prove it :)

A tree we love on the banks of the Ijssel river in Deventer, was nominated for, and won the title of ‘Mooiste Boom’ or ‘nicest tree’ in Deventer. So, for the next couple of days, it’s going to be the Mooiste Boom series, with pics of the tree we’ve taken at different times - this one…sometime in the middle of January, with no leaves on it…just a patina of moss.

One of us loves to rag the other for taking photos of moss along the Ijssel river…this one, from Zutphen, is a real portrait!

Its not until we saw them again, that we realized how much we miss our feathered friends from Delft…

We rode our bikes by the river at sunset, literally till the cows came home….

There’s sunshine, green grass and flowers popping out of the ground…oh wait! its only going to get better!!!

PS: The train on the bridge stayed a cheerful yellow even in the sucky weather :P
